Gina's MMA fighters keep stealing my heart...

Gina delights us once again with a powerhouse story about unconditional love, heartache and the power of forgiveness.
To say I had been waiting a long time for this second book would be an understatement. I bought Seducing Cinderella because I thought it looked good. I loved the cover and the synopsis. It was absolutely an amazing read! So I had been waiting on this next in the series for a long time. I was able to get an early copy so that I could post some reviews of the book on release day. So here we go!
This book starts off with Lucie's best friend Vanessa "Nessie" McGregor, having to head to Hawaii to plan the wedding of Lucie's dreams for her because she has been struck with illness and cannot get there to do it herself. Lucie is the heroine in Seducing Cinderella and she is going to marry Reid Alexander MMA fighter and best friend of her brother Jackson Maris. When Vanessa arrives she is supposed to meet with "Jax" her best friends brother who lives in Hawaii. Vanessa has lived a life full of regrets and heartache. She has 7 Rules that she lives by and she has never broken them for anyone. She's a lawyer and one headstrong woman. She's snarky and down right funny. "V" as Jax insists on calling her is not the type to get pushed around by anyone. She is strikingly beautiful and turns heads everywhere she goes but her "step off" attitude leaves a little to be desired.
Jackson "Jax" Maris is Lucie's only brother. After their parents died suddenly he made it his life's mission to raise Lucie to be an exemplary woman. Jax had to struggle for years to make this work and when Lucie was old enough he fled off to Hawaii, where he trains and fights as an MMA fighter. There is a reason he chose Hawaii and it is a secret he has held onto for the last 15 years, even from his baby sister. Jax is a strong man, and oh so warm and sensual. When he arrives late to pickup his baby sister's best friend Vanessa he gets an ear full and an eye full. Jax has never met a woman with the quick tongue and whitt of one Vanessa McGregor. He is quickly charmed and forms a plan to get closer to this woman that has set his world a tilt.
I cannot tell you how much I love Jax and Nessie. Jax very quickly stole my heart. I was told that others liked him more the Reid and I didn't that that was possible but after reading this story, he's joined my book boyfriend list. He's not just yummy in the looks department but he is super sweet and caring. Oh so sensual and just downright panty melting in the bedroom, and all the other delicious places he and Vanessa adventure into and there are quite a few of them ;-). He makes it his life mission to break down the walls that V has built and when the come crashing down he is comforting and loving. He's determined to prove that her 7 rules are not the way to live.
There are some super hot and steamy scenes and I can tell you that I will never do a shot of alcohol again without thinking of Jax and Nessie. You'll have to read the story to find out why and I promise you that it's TOTALLY WORTH it!
The characters are strong and very well written. Their relationship is so realistic, they have lots of issues to overcome. Who doesn't?The question is can Vanessa let down on her 7 rules long enough to let Jax in? Or will she run like she always does? Well You'll have to read it to find out... I promise you won't be disappointed in this book. This one was easily a 5 star read for me. There isn't much that you could change to make it any better then it was. I want to go to Hawaii now after reading it and I bet that you will too. Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Ms. Maxwell's first book Seducing Cinderella was a skyrocket straight to best seller. I have a feeling her second, Rules of Entanglement, will follow it's path. Lucie and Reid are the amazing couple introduced to us in her first book. We had glimpses of Jackson, Lucie's very protective brother, and some great girl time with Vanessa MacGregor , Lucie's best friend. Now we meet Vanessa and Jackson up close and personal.
The wedding of Lucie's dreams is being held at an exclusive hotel resort in Hawaii. Jax is an MMA fighter living there for the last several years, and with his " connections" they were able to reserve this amazing venue. Vanessa and Jax's first meeting is NOT a fortuitous one. He arrives an hour late with the excuse that he was surfing and lost track of the time. Vanessa thrives on rules, and has in fact a "Lucky Seven" she lives by. Jax has already broken rule #7.....Never take your responsibilities lightly. This novel is a classic example of opposites attract. Jax had to raise his little sister after his parents died unexpectedly and lived by the rules to keep her life safe and secure. When she went to college he moved to Hawaii, and fights, trains and surfs. No rules. Nessie having grown up in a dysfunctional home with her little sister, now needs the rules to keep her life on track.
Jax and Nessie have secrets they share with each other that draw them closer, and one giant secret Jax is keeping that may tear them apart. This novel has everything, laughter, very hot sex , conflict and a beautiful love story. This anxiously awaited second book in the Fighting For Love series, was definitely worth waiting for. It can be read as a stand alone, but the first in the series is such a joy to read I would recommend reading it to appreciate Lucie and Reid's road to their happily ever after.

One of the most annoying female leads I've ever read...

...and I've read a lot. I got to 12% on my Kindle, decided I couldn't stand this girl any more, and started skipping around to try and find something good. There were a few cute spots, and the sex scenes were pretty hot, but almost every time the h opened her mouth it was like nails on a chalkboard (to me). Sorry, I was really hoping for something as good as Seducing Cinderella, but this ain't it.
